These letters were written from the heart of Pastor Cliff and Miss Evona through their five month faith journey from the cancer diagnosis to Cliff’s home going.  Their unselfish gift of time, emotion, energy and spiritual insight has been an inspiration to many.  The family’s desire was to make them available for those who could draw encouragement from the comfort wherewith they have been comforted of God.

Cliff Frink was born on April 3, 1966. He attended Church with his parents regularly and was saved at an early age at Good Shepherd Baptist Church of Tampa, Florida. Cliff was saved as a direct result of the witness of his mother Kay and under the preaching of Pastor Scotty Drake.  His life was dramatically changed after a tragic accident at age 17 which took the lives of 3 of his friends.  Cliff wavered between choosing faith or suicide at that time and thankfully surrendered his life to God for the Ministry.  He went on to graduate from Providence Christian School and later earn a B.A. from Bethany Bible College.  His surrender to the Ministry came in 1984 and he became the youth director at Fellowship Baptist Church in 1986.  On June 12, 1993, Cliff was married to Evona Boyette.  They now have 3 children. Micah age 10. Caleb age 7 and Lucas age 1.  Cliff was called as the Senior Pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church in 1995.  He led the Church to relocate to a 30 acre site on Hwy 301 in Thonotosassa where it is presently located.  Pastor Cliff’s vision for this site was not only the Church campus, but a family life retreat, a senior apartment village and a mission’s center.

Pastor Cliff and his family had their plans altered on May 16, 2006 when he was diagnosed with multiple types of cancer.  They again had to “choose faith” in the face of staggering circumstances.  This choice of an unwavering faith in a loving Lord and Savior was rewarded on October 6, 2006 when peacefully and painlessly, Pastor Cliff was promoted to his Heavenly Home.  Some of his last thoughts and prayers were for his beloved Church and his loving family.  While we were trying to transfer him home to his beautiful garden sanctuary, Jesus allowed him to bid farewell to his family, say a final “I love you” to his loving wife and transfer to the garden lighted by The Rose of Sharon and The Lily of the Valley.  His choice of faith rewarded, his faith now has become sight.  Those of us left who “choose faith” will see him again some day and will then know why our beloved Pastor Cliff has been called home. Until then, Pastor Cliff says “Choose Faith.” Live it and I’ll see you in the morning.
